Exhibition Statement

The reference photo for this piece was taken in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts, featuring my dad and his husband strolling beneath the historic arches. I had originally planned something completely different for this piece (a full color watercolor painting) but I ultimately wasn't feeling it, so, I let that plan go and just started cutting sections out and patching them together to create a new composition that interacts directly with the frame; thankfully, I think this risk paid off as I quite like the unique result! (My artistic process really is nonexistent at this point... )
