Exhibition Statement

Internal Family Systems is a form of therapy that involves the metaphorical breakdown of oneself into ‘parts’ that each have a role to play in our behaviors, thought patterns, and interactions with the world around us. My introduction to IFS was a meditation wherein I was asked to draw my ‘parts’ as abstract doodles, as well as determine how they interacted with one another. This piece is an expansion on that exercise as I have attempted to visualize this internal system on a grand scale.
