Exhibition Statement

I had never done a mural before embarking on this project, though I’d always wanted to; so, when my English teacher offered up a wall in her room, I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity. The composition includes portraits of eight of her favorite female authors accompanied by selected quotes on the writing process. This project took me nearly a year to complete and it is quite possibly one of my proudest pieces I've done thus far in my ‘career’ as an artist. I enjoyed the process so much, in fact, that I established a club during my senior year dedicated to painting murals all around the school.
